Cape Town's famous Chapman's Peak Drive got reopened on Friday, 09 Oct 2009, by Western Cape transport MEC Robin Carlisle. The 9km (114 curves) route from Noordhoek to Hout Bay, which goes along cliffs above Atlantic breakers, had been closed since June 2008, following recurrent rockfalls.
