Qatar Airways bans transport of all hunting trophies!

The state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways, yesterday (06 Aug 2015) announced the  extension of its existing embargo on transporting hunting trophies to encompass all species (CITES I,II & III) identified by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
  • CITES I > species threatened with extinction.
  • CITES II > species for which trade must be controlled in order to avoid behaviour incompatible with their survival. 
  • CITES III > species that are protected in at least one country, which has asked other CITES parties for assistance in controlling the trade.
